As part of the Fashion Image & Visual Communication (FIVC) module, led by Armand Cordero, first-year BA student Ella Cranfield explored the essence of celebrity, spectacle, and self-expression in fashion.

Through a blend of film, behind-the-scenes footage, and interactive layouts, Ella’s Readymag presentation takes viewers through her concept development, visual research, creative process, and final outcomes. Her film, “STAR SENSATION,” captures the electric energy of fashion imagery, while her BTS footage offers an intimate look at the project’s creation. Reflecting on the creative direction and styling, Ella shares:

“Through visual communication I have created a photo series, which reflects the feeling of feeling like a star. I have consciously and creatively directed and styled my model; Lizzy Thomson, in an all-silver sparkly outfit, as this is visually the way I see and interpret, “feeling special”, to look and be represented on the outside world. through my own creative lense.

For me to be able to capture the emotion of the sensation in the most real and authentic way. I gave my model freedom to choose a piece of clothing which really resonated with her and that would provoke this feeling inside of her. The light grey furry coat was her pick, and this instantly brought her confidence to life and well and truly shined through on camera. I wanted it to be clear to the viewers eye that my model feels good in what she’s wearing and she’s not afraid to let her diva side come to life!”

With Readymag, Vogue College of Fashion students are pushing the boundaries of digital fashion communication, transforming creative concepts into engaging, interactive experiences that reflect the ever-evolving fashion landscape.
