Taryn Hipwell

Taryn Hipwell is a global speaker and healthy fashion consultant working with both established brands and emerging startups to reshape the industry through transparency, circularity, and cleaner materials.

She is the author of How to Shop for Shi(f)t and a recipient of the Mana Fashion Award for Sustainable Expert of the Year.

Her work has reached more than 10,000 students worldwide, with talks at leading institutions including FIT, Parsons, LIM, NYU, MFI/MDC, FIDM, UCLA, SMC, and YOUNGA (a first-of-its-kind global youth takeover of the United Nations). She has also presented internationally at the Green School in Bali, the Youth Environmental Network in Zambia, and the Middle East Youth Expo in Abu Dhabi.

Taryn launched the first EcoDivas’ EcoCloset and Upcycling Labs at the Sundance Film Festival in 2009, building a long-standing practice rooted in upcycling, circular design, and material innovation. Most recently, she introduced the Healthy Fabric Library at Frost Science in Miami on World Ocean Day, an interactive initiative highlighting plant-based, non-toxic, and biodegradable fibers, fabrics, and dyes, while inviting audiences to reconsider the ingredients in their clothing.
