During the course, students will prepare a promotional campaign, build digital stories for a variety of different media platforms, and create a public relations pitch that they can add to their portfolios. The course will look at how successful fashion campaigns craft and deliver messages across social media, digital, print and experiential platforms. Students will gain insight into how the Vogue brand shapes the global fashion landscape.

This course is designed for students who are passionate about fashion and are considering studying fashion communications or related majors in college. Students will explore how fashion is shaped, presented and understood through storytelling.

Course Topics

Students will learn about fashion marketing, communication and public relations from industry experts whilst working as a team producing a strategic campaign pitch that covers social media, digital, print and experiential platforms.

Topics include:

  • Fashion storytelling: Pitching and Building a Story
  • Marketing, Branding and Promotion
  • Campaign Strategy and Content Creation
  • Brand Awareness and Consumer Insights
  • Fashion Media and Journalism

Site Visits

Visits will include a combination of trips to major New York City art museums and galleries, as well as designers’ studios and other places related to fashion, including the esteemed Vogue HQ.

Site visits may include:

  • Vogue HQ
  • Spring Studios
  • The Costume Institute at The Metropolitan Museum of Art
  • Brooklyn Museum
  • Museum of Arts and Design
  • Flagship stores along the Garment District on Fifth Avenue
  • Designer studios and ateliers

This is a new course and final site visits are subject to change.

Guest Speakers

Students will hear firsthand from fashion industry experts and fashion marketing and communications professionals about the topics that show how storytelling is used in advertising, public relations and social media.

Guest speakers may include:

  • Fashion marketing and communication managers

  • Social media managers
  • Fashion industry professionals in a variety of roles

Admissions

Vogue Summer School is open to high school students (grades 10-12 and Graduating Seniors based on the grade the student is entering in the Fall 2025 school year). Students must be 15 years old by the first day of their term. All students applying to Vogue Summer School for the first time are required to complete an online application. Returning students do not need to reapply. Our online application can be completed in a few basic steps. As students work through their application, they may save their progress and return to the application before final submission.

Residential Program

Students live in dorm-like facilities in Lower Manhattan.

Students commute to campus and do not receive room and board.

Students who enroll in multiple terms are eligible for a $500 discount on each term.

Flexible payment plans are available to all families.

*Materials Fees cover activities, equipment, and other instructional materials. Program fees do not include health insurance. All students are required to have their own health insurance coverage.
