Vogue Summer Program: Fashion Media & Styling is an intensive accredited four-week summer program designed to introduce undergraduate-level students to media’s role within the fashion industry. This course will immerse you in key areas of fashion media and styling, equipping you with a strong grasp of fashion styling, journalism and the role of an editor.
You will delve into the various facets of fashion media and styling, including content creation, media strategy, and visual as well as written storytelling. The course covers the roles of fashion media platforms, explores the latest trends in media consumption, and teaches you how to craft compelling fashion stories that resonate with audiences. Through hands-on tasks, interactive workshops, and industry insights, you’ll learn how to effectively create fashion content across different media channels. As part of the course, you will also complete a team studio and still-life fashion shoots.
The curriculum includes practical workshops, case studies, and guest lectures from industry professionals, including those from Vogue and other Condé Nast brands. You will complete a team project in the form of an editorial proposal for Vogue that you will present at the end of the course. These experiences are aimed at enhancing your media skills and understanding of the fashion industry.
By the end of the program, you will have developed strong media skills, strategic insights, and practical experience in creating fashion media. Alongside this, you will have created practical examples of work as a way to demonstrate learned skills. This course is ideal for aspiring fashion media professionals such as stylists, journalists and editors, those looking to advance their careers, or anyone with a passion for fashion media and styling.

Modules
This four-week program offers a thorough introduction to fashion media and styling. Engage in lectures and workshops to gain insights from industry professionals and apply your knowledge to practical projects.
Week 1: Foundations of Fashion Media and Styling
Introduce the foundations of fashion media and styling in the London context, including semiotics and media literacy. Explore the cultural foundations of London’s fashion scene through historical contexts.
Week 2: Digital Content and Fashion Storytelling
Explore the aesthetics of digital influence, including examining how brands and creators construct identity online through narratives, photography and social media. Understand the balance and storytelling between digital content and tradition in British heritage brands.
Week 3: Creative Practice in Fashion & Styling
Build proficiencies in editorial writing and styling for diverse audiences. Identify wider macro-environmental trends shaping consumer behaviour.
Week 4: Culture and Critique
Critically analyze fashion media and styling through cultural and ethical lenses, linking to contemporary global affairs, inclusivity, diversity and sustainability. Explore how global voices and culture informs visual and editorial narratives.
Site Visits
As part of Vogue Summer Program: Fashion Media & Styling, students will be immersed in London’s fashion scene through site visits and co-curriculars. These visits may include behind-the-scenes access to:
- Vogue & Condé Nast London HQ
- Fashion photography studios
- Luxury retail tours of London High Street, such as Harrods or Selfridges
- Emerging designer ateliers
- Guided visits of London museums and fashion exhibitions
Guest Lectures
Vogue Summer Program: Fashion Media & Styling students will learn directly from industry insiders and experts who will offer first-hand insight into fashion styling, media and communications. Guest lectures may include:

Accreditation
Vogue Summer Program: Fashion Media & Styling in London is accredited for 4 U.S. semester credits. Students will be asked to indicate in Week 1 whether they wish to obtain an official transcript for this course. The ability to receive course credit is dependent on a student’s visa and immigration status. Please contact Admissions for further information.
