We often talk about the benefits of studying fashion online—especially through Vogue College of Fashion’s digital campus. Backed by the authority of Vogue, a global benchmark in the industry, our programs offer the flexibility to connect from anywhere in the world, the chance to learn from top industry professionals, and a structure that adapts entirely to each student’s rhythm. Still, nothing compares to hearing firsthand from someone who’s experienced it themselves.

Juana Barranco Cayuela, an alumna of the Vogue Online Course in Fashion, Beauty, and Lifestyle Journalism, studied Journalism at the University of Málaga. After building a career in retail, she felt the need to reinvent herself and pivot toward “what had truly inspired me since childhood.”

“It was just the right time to do it,” she told us. “Studying online gave me the chance to fully organize my time. I loved joining the live classes and tutorials because they allowed real-time interaction with teachers and classmates—but if I couldn’t make it, I had the option to watch the recordings later.”

For Juana, the course exceeded her expectations. She has fond memories of her tutor Vicente and the rest of the faculty. “They’re incredibly passionate about what they do,” she says. “And it’s not just theory—they also challenge us with practical cases, which is essential.”

What did you enjoy most about the online course?

“First of all, having the opportunity to learn from such renowned professionals—people I’ve admired for years through Condé Nast publications—was incredible.
Second, the course structure was so well-organized that in just three months, I was able to develop skills across different areas of fashion, beauty, and lifestyle communication.
And lastly, the practical assignments were crucial. They really helped me sharpen those skills and understand my strengths and weaknesses when it comes to writing.”

Juana says she would “absolutely, without a doubt” recommend the course.

“It’s a very complete program—not just academically, but also in how it inspires and motivates you,” she shares. “To anyone thinking about enrolling, I’d say this course won’t just expand your knowledge. It will also be a way to reconnect with yourself—personally and professionally.”
