In her multimedia project SENSATIONS, first-year BA student Fabijana Schaefer invites us to experience fashion through a sensory lens, exploring how textures, movement, and emotion converge to shape visual narratives.

Created as part of the Fashion Image and Visual Communication module within the BA Fashion Communication and Industry Practice at Vogue College of Fashion, SENSATIONS is an immersive digital showcase that exemplifies the fusion of conceptual storytelling and technical execution. From concept to publication, Fabijana brings her vision to life through film, photography, and dynamic web design—culminating in a striking digital portfolio built on Readymag.

Emotion in Motion

Drawing inspiration from sensory perception and inner emotion, Fabijana’s project translates feeling into form. Reflecting on the process, she shares how the open brief encouraged self-exploration: “This module gave me the opportunity to explore my creative methodology upon a given prompt. When the creative boundaries are endless, it can sometimes be more difficult to create something authentic. I approached “Sensations” naturally. I brainstormed the meaning of it to me as an individual. This made my approach to the module unapologetic as it was entirely personalised.”

Through experimental fashion films, textural stills, and layered visuals, SENSATIONS blurs the boundary between reality and imagination. The accompanying film creates a dreamlike, almost synesthetic journey where fashion becomes an extension of inner life. Her careful attention to motion, sound, and visual rhythm transforms passive viewing into an active, emotional experience.

A Vogue-Ready Vision

As a student at Vogue College of Fashion, Fabijana has tapped into a network of fashion-forward peers, industry mentors, and creative resources that push boundaries and foster bold experimentation. The SENSATIONS project reflects the College’s ethos: to combine rigorous industry training with the freedom to express original, future-facing ideas.

With Readymag, Vogue College of Fashion students are pushing the boundaries of digital fashion communication, transforming creative concepts into engaging, interactive experiences that reflect the ever-evolving fashion landscape.
