Could you share a little about your background and current work?
I hold two law degrees and have spent much of my professional life navigating the traditional corporate side of London. Currently, I work as a Regulatory Officer for the Bar Standards Board, where precision, structure and analytical thinking are part of my daily rhythm. Before pursuing law, I was an arts student, and I remember that chapter of my life with real fondness. It was a time when I felt most like myself—curious, expressive and intuitively creative.
Although my legal career has been fulfilling, I have always felt that something was missing, a space where I could reconnect with my creative instincts. That search led me to Vogue College of Fashion. The Vogue Creative Direction course felt like the perfect bridge between the rigor of my current world and the creative freedom I’ve long craved.
What made you choose Vogue College of Fashion for your studies?
Vogue has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up in the age of digital print, I was not only flicking through the pages of fashion magazines, but I was also experiencing Vogue’s evolution in real time. The magazine has always stood as the gold standard for fashion and culture. For me, it has never just been about clothes, it has been about vision. Choosing to study at Vogue College of Fashion felt instinctive. I wanted to learn from the source, the very institution that had inspired me for years.
Which course did you enroll in and why?
I enrolled in Vogue Creative Direction to gain a deeper understanding of what it takes to craft compelling visual narratives, to lead with purpose and to grasp the intricate workings behind a major publication house. My goal is not only to create beautiful content, but to do so with intention, cultural relevance and editorial impact.
What was your experience like participating in the course?
My experience in the course was nothing short of transformative. Entering a new creative space after years in a corporate environment could’ve easily felt intimidating, but from the very beginning, I was met with warmth, guidance and a genuine sense of community.
The course leader offered insightful, practical advice on how to build compelling creative portfolios, which was completely new territory for me. Her encouragement and direction gave me the confidence to explore and experiment. Her feedback helped me understand the essence of good visual storytelling.
What made the course even more enriching was my cohort. We came from all walks of life, and some, like me, were making the leap from more traditional corporate sectors into the creative industries. That shared sense of transition fostered a mutual respect and understanding.
Can you share an example of an assignment that you particularly enjoyed?
One assignment that I particularly enjoyed was the task of reinventing a Burberry creative campaign. We were asked to reimagine the 2014 “With Love” campaign for today’s social media-first world, with a focus on platforms such as TikTok and Instagram Reels. The challenge was not only to honor Burberry’s heritage but also to shape a campaign that would feel fresh, relevant and engaging for a new generation.
My concept was titled “Tea Breaks with Burberry,” with the tagline: “Pause the City, Sip the Moment.” It was a celebration of London’s vibrant residents embracing the great British tea break, a timeless ritual that felt perfectly aligned with Burberry’s identity.
I developed a full campaign strategy with dedicated phases for teasing, launching and sustaining engagement, each accompanied by mood boards and directional notes. The teaser stage introduced fleeting, poetic glimpses of Londoners enjoying tea in iconic Burberry pieces. The launch focused on immersive, cinematic Reels showcasing how Burberry seamlessly fits into the everyday. Finally, the sustain phase invited user-generated content, encouraging customers to share their own #BurberryTeaBreak moments.
How has the program contributed to your growth, either professionally or academically?
Through practical tasks, portfolio development and constant critical reflection, I’ve gained the tools to approach briefs with a sharp creative eye and a strong sense of purpose. I am now starting to feel confident in my ability to lead creative projects, contribute meaningfully to a team and eventually step into a directorial role, bringing with me not only vision, but structure, empathy, and clear communication.
Academically, this course reignited my appetite for learning. It pushed me to think critically about visual language, cultural context and the impact of storytelling. I now find myself analyzing campaigns, branding and content with a completely new lens—curious not just about the aesthetic, but about the why behind it.
