Fashion had always been of interest to Delfina Conca, but it was through the Online Vogue Course in Styling and Personal Shopping that she was able to gain a deeper understanding of the work that goes on behind the scenes in the industry. During the course, she discovered new career paths, gained insight into the role of a stylist across different sectors, and explored the creative process behind editorial productions. The experience expanded her perspective on fashion and strengthened her desire to continue learning and growing within the industry.

Tell us a little about yourself and your background

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Business from the University of CEMA. In addition, I have training in Image Consulting from Inside Studios.

I currently work at a consultancy firm that supports public organisations across Latin America in modernisation and organisational transformation projects. My role is focused on project management and coordination, where I contribute to planning, progress tracking, and team coordination to ensure that each initiative moves forward in an organised manner and remains aligned with its objectives.

This role has enabled me to develop strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills, while also gaining experience working with multidisciplinary teams on high-impact projects.

How did you discover us?

I was already familiar with Vogue as a leading authority in the fashion world. When I decided to deepen my education in styling, I began researching course options and discovered Vogue College. I was drawn to the fact that the programme was backed by such a recognised brand within the industry and that it combined theoretical knowledge with practical assignments. It seemed like an excellent opportunity to continue expanding my expertise and take another step forward in my professional development within the world of fashion.

Which course did you take?

Online Vogue Course in Styling and Personal Shopping.

What has the course brought you?

The course allowed me to discover just how broad and diverse the fashion industry is, as well as the wide range of career paths available within it. Before taking the course, I primarily associated styling with image consulting or one-to-one client work. Today, I have a much clearer understanding of how stylists work in areas such as editorials, advertising campaigns, fashion shows, costume design, and fashion communications, what their responsibilities are, and how their work integrates with that of other professionals to create successful outcomes.

It also gave me a much deeper understanding of how a fashion magazine operates and the entire creative process behind an editorial production, from concept development and look selection to the creation of a compelling visual narrative.
Finally, the course reinforced my desire to continue learning and gave me even more motivation to deepen my knowledge and further develop my career within the fashion industry.

Which lecturer or session would you highlight?

I would particularly highlight Unit 2: Fashion Culture, especially the session on the history of fashion taught by Vicente Gallart. I found it fascinating to understand how fashion has evolved throughout different decades and how social, cultural, and historical changes influenced the way people dressed in each era. History is not usually a subject that naturally interests me, but the way it was explained, connecting each period to its context and to the evolution of garments and styles, made it genuinely engaging.

I would also highlight Unit 9: Fashion Editorial Production, taught by Roberto Pérez. I was surprised to discover how much work goes into an editorial production and how many professionals contribute to creating a successful final result. Previously, I viewed editorials only from the perspective of the finished product, but this session helped me understand the entire planning, coordination, and production process behind the scenes. The explanation was also extremely clear and helped me understand how each team member’s contribution comes together to bring an idea to life.

What project did you develop as part of the course? Could you tell us more details?

One of the first practical assignments involved stepping into the role of a Vogue Spain stylist and creating three editorial pages inspired by the magazine’s format. To complete the project, I researched trends, selected garments and accessories from different brands, developed a concept for each page, and carefully considered both the visual composition and the editorial layout. It was an extremely rewarding exercise because it allowed me to begin understanding how this type of content is created within a fashion magazine.

What did you enjoy most?

What I enjoyed most was that the classes were taught by different professionals according to their area of expertise. It is clear that each tutor brings significant industry experience, which makes the content more insightful and closely connected to real-world practice.

In addition, I found the assignments highly engaging because they reflected situations that a stylist or personal shopper might actually encounter in their professional work. Rather than purely theoretical exercises, they were projects that encouraged research, decision-making, and the development of original ideas, making the learning experience far more dynamic and practical.

If you were to take another course, which one would you choose?

I would be interested in taking the Online Vogue Course in Social Media Marketing for Fashion, as I am currently developing a content creation project focused on image consulting and fashion on Instagram. I believe it would be an excellent opportunity to complement my styling expertise with communication and social media strategies, allowing me to continue growing professionally in both fields.

Why would you recommend Vogue College of Fashion’s online courses?

I would recommend Vogue College’s online courses because they combine high-quality education with a highly flexible learning format. Being online, students can organise their studies around their own schedules and revisit lessons whenever needed.

In addition, the downloadable materials provide valuable supplementary resources that remain useful even after the course has ended. In my case, living in Argentina means that time differences do not always allow me to attend live sessions, so this format enabled me to follow all the content without missing anything and progress at my own pace.
