The 83rd edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, held from March 17 to 22 in Madrid, with its main programming taking place at IFEMA from March 20 to 22, once again established itself as the premier showcase for Spanish fashion and one of the industry’s leading international meeting points. Within this context, Vogue College of Fashion Spain reaffirmed its commitment to education that is closely aligned with the realities of the industry through three immersive days at IFEMA—capturing both the present and future of fashion.

A Hub for Connection at IFEMA

Over the three days of programming at IFEMA Madrid, Vogue College of Fashion Spain hosted a stand designed as a dynamic meeting space between the institution and visitors interested in exploring its academic offerings.

In an environment where creativity, business, and innovation intersect, the space became a hub for ongoing conversations with prospective students, industry professionals, and fashion enthusiasts ready to take the next step in their education. From specialized master’s degrees to programs designed to anticipate emerging industry demands, this presence reinforces the institution’s commitment to actively participating in major events that drive both Spanish fashion and its global projection.

Friday, March 20 marked one of the most insightful moments for students in the Vogue Master’s in Fashion and Beauty Business Management and the Vogue Master’s in International Luxury Business, as they gained access to one of the most exclusive areas of any fashion week: the backstage.

Away from the media spotlight, they observed firsthand the real mechanics behind each runway show, visiting the backstage areas of brands such as Simorra, Custo Barcelona, Pablo Erroz, Lola Casademunt, and Hannibal Laguna.

In this high-intensity creative environment, students had the opportunity to meet Maite Gassó, creative director of Lola Casademunt, as well as the iconic Custo Dalmau. Amid the fast-paced pre-show activity, they were also able to view Simorra’s collection up close just moments before it hit the runway.

On Saturday, March 21, also part of the IFEMA schedule, attention turned to one of the event’s highlights: the Mercedes-Benz Award for Best Collection, which recognizes excellence in key areas such as tailoring, quality, creativity, and staging.

In this edition, the award went to MANS, led by Seville-based designer Jaime Álvarez. His proposal stood out for its contemporary reinterpretation of the classic suit, where tradition meets modern sensibility—resulting in a collection that balances technical precision, emotion, and aesthetic storytelling.

This recognition highlights not only emerging talent within the national landscape but also the role of MBFWMadrid as a launchpad for a new generation of designers redefining the codes of Spanish fashion.

March 22: EGO from the Mercedes-Benz Rooftop

Sunday, March 22, the final day of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, once again became one of the most memorable moments of the week for master’s students, thanks to their attendance at EGO, the platform dedicated to emerging talent.

Each edition, Mercedes-Benz invites students to experience this event from a privileged vantage point. This time, they attended from its exclusive rooftop—an exceptional setting from which fashion can be viewed through a different lens: closer, more intentional, and more connected to the industry.

Attendance was organized into three groups, allowing each student to watch two runway shows during a session running from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Featured brands included EAFTIMOS and Adrià Egea; Pringa Studio and Bonet; and Caducifolium alongside Antonio Acuario—offering a diverse overview of some of the most promising voices in today’s fashion landscape.

After each set of shows, students accessed the “kissing room,” a space where the excitement of the runway evolves into conversation, analysis, and networking. These moments added even greater value to the experience, enabling immediate insight into emerging talent and its positioning within the industry.

From Vogue College of Fashion Spain, we would like to once again thank Mercedes-Benz for its strong commitment to fashion—an experience that not only elevates learning but also strengthens the connection between education, industry, and the future.
