Some projects are born from strategy, while others emerge from memory. Cristina Sánchez’s, an alumna of the Vogue Master’s in Fashion Communication and Beauty, belongs to the latter: a space where aesthetics, emotion, and brand identity naturally come together.

Her most recent project, Luchy Bakery Café, is much more than a café in Madrid. It is a creative universe that connects tradition, craftsmanship, and community—designed as a place to stay, to share, and to create. A space where every detail, from the name to the interiors, is rooted in a personal story.

We spoke with her about her career path, the role her time at Vogue College played in shaping her brand, and how she transformed a family memory into a project with soul.

Tell us a bit about yourself and your background

Some stories don’t follow a single straight line; instead, they are woven from different interests that, over time, find their own language. Mine began very early on, with a natural sensitivity toward aesthetics, fashion, and all things creative.

From the start, my path has been closely linked to creative processes where detail, craftsmanship, and identity play a central role. Over time, I felt the need to expand that perspective toward a more strategic approach, which led me to study digital marketing and later pursue the Vogue Master’s in Fashion Communication and Beauty at Vogue College of Fashion Spain.

I have always understood education as an ongoing process, so I continue to train through different courses that allow me to evolve and grow my projects.

But if there is an invisible thread that connects everything I do, it is my story in my maternal grandmother Luchy’s kitchen. Among handwritten recipes, sweet aromas, and shared moments, I learned that creating can also be a way of caring.

After finishing the master’s, you developed Luchy Bakery Café. Tell us about it and how the program helped you shape it

Luchy Bakery Café opened in September after a long and carefully considered process in which every decision mattered—from finding the right location to designing the entire space myself.

At its core, Luchy Bakery Café is a project that brings together tradition, aesthetics, and a way of life. All of the baking is homemade and based on my grandmother Luchy’s recipes, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens while preserving their essence.

The brand identity is deeply personal. The logo comes from a silver box on which my grandmother used to write her name, “Luchy,” in cursive, and the symbol that represents the brand is my dog India.
From the start, I knew I wanted it to be a space dedicated to animals—especially dogs—which have always been part of my life.

The space itself is a statement of intent. I wanted to pay tribute to traditional crafts and old trades, which is why all the tableware is handmade. The clay tiles are original pieces from an old house that I wanted to give a second life to, and the original wooden beams have been preserved. The café is located in a corrala dating back to 1900, and that history is an essential part of its identity.

The master’s program was fundamental in shaping this entire universe. It helped me build a coherent brand, translate emotion into a solid concept, and take care of every detail.

How did you first hear about the master’s program?

I discovered it through its prestige, which immediately sparked my interest in being part of such a creative environment closely linked to the industry.

Why did you decide to study the Vogue Master’s in Fashion Communication and Beauty?

Because I was looking for a program that would offer not only knowledge, but also a strategic and creative perspective to develop projects with a strong identity.

What was your experience during the program like?

It was a transformative experience, where ideas began to take shape and I learned how to structure my creativity.

Which sessions stood out to you the most?

The branding-focused sessions were especially revealing, as they helped me understand that a brand is not just what you see, but everything it communicates.

What did you enjoy the most, or what do you remember most fondly?

The creative environment and the constant feeling that we were building something of our own.

Where did you complete your internship?

I completed my internship at Cherubina, and I loved the experience. It was incredibly enriching and allowed me to understand how a brand operates from the inside.

Finally, what lesson do you carry with you in your work today?

That brands with soul are born from real stories, and that when there is coherence, everything flows naturally.

Luchy Bakery Café is the sum of tradition, memory, aesthetics, and emotion. A way of paying tribute, while also building something new. A space designed to stay, to share, to create—and, in some way, to feel at home.
