On March 17th, students from the Vogue Master’s in International Luxury Business traveled from Madrid to Illueca, Zaragoza, to step inside the world of PARIS/64. More than a visit, the experience became a direct immersion into the processes, values, and rhythms that define contemporary luxury.

From Classroom to Origin: Understanding Luxury from Within

Moving beyond theory, the day offered a tangible approach to the industry. Guided by María Catoira Gómez, Head of PR and Communications, and Magdalena, factory manager, students explored the space where each piece comes to life.

Illueca—historically rooted in leather craftsmanship—revealed itself as the perfect setting to understand how tradition and innovation coexist in balance. The journey from Madrid was not only geographical: it also symbolized a shift from concept to real knowledge, from classroom learning to the origin of the product.

Process as the Language of Luxury

Throughout the visit, students observed every stage of handbag creation: from the selection of materials to design, cutting, stamping, hardware application, embossing, drying, and final assembly.

Each phase revealed a level of precision close to fine craftsmanship. Here, luxury was not defined solely by appearance, but by process: by the time invested, the technical expertise, and the meticulous attention to detail behind every piece.

In an industry often driven by immediacy, this approach introduced a necessary pause—a way of understanding fashion that prioritizes doing things well over doing them fast.

An Experience That Reshaped Perspective

For the students, the visit represented a unique opportunity to understand the true meaning of luxury from its origin. Observing, questioning, and following each stage of the process allowed them to internalize concepts that go far beyond academic learning.

At Vogue College of Fashion, education is built through experiences that connect students directly with the industry. Initiatives like this provide access to the realities shaping the present—and future—of luxury.

Because understanding fashion today necessarily means understanding who makes it—and how it is made.
