What made you choose Vogue College of Fashion for your studies?
Being from California and always drawn to luxury brands, I’ve always looked to London as a hub of culture and career opportunity for fashion and media. When I began exploring master’s programs, my top priority was finding a course that offered real-world, industry-relevant learning and the chance to network within the luxury sector. I discovered Vogue College of Fashion online and the intimate class sizes and hands-on approach really appealed to me. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
What were the most valuable skills you gained during your program?
Definitely the real-world industry exposure. The Luxury Brand Strategy & Business course focused on the future of luxury brands, which includes understanding consumer behavior and how identifying brands can adapt while keeping their foundations solid. One of the biggest skills I took away was learning how to identify opportunities that help brands stay relevant to next generations. Early in your career, it’s easy to stay within your job description, but the College really taught me how to think strategically and add value across different areas of a business.
Can you describe a project or collaboration that had a significant impact on your learning experience?
One of the highlights of my time at the College was being a host of the Vogue College Presents speaker series. I had the chance to interview incredible key players like Victoria Beckham, Sarah Harris, Deborah Joseph and Bertrand Michaud, to name a few. Meeting these industry icons face-to-face gave me real perspective on where I wanted to take my career and the steps I needed to take to get there.
How did the faculty and industry professionals influence your career path?
The team at the College has been incredible, even after graduation. Because of the small class sizes, they really get to know each student and can tailor their advice to our individual goals and interests. One thing that really set the College apart for me is the impressive industry experience the faculty bring to the courses. They’ve all accomplished really impressive things across the fashion industry, which makes everything you learn feel that much more relevant.
What was it like returning to Vogue College of Fashion to host a Vogue College Presents talk?
I love returning to the College whenever I can! Being a host of the Vogue College Presents series was one of my highlights of my MA and gave me a deeper appreciation for the doors that opened while at the College. Every speaker that I’ve come across is so passionate about mentoring and inspiring younger professionals and who wouldn’t like to be a part of that?
How did your time at Vogue College of Fashion help you develop your approach to brand storytelling and communication, and how have those skills influenced the way you now lead your own PR agency?
Through my courses at the College, I was able to really understand the positioning of the luxury market on a more global scale rather than simply through the lens of the US market. Effective storytelling always starts with understanding your audience and what they want, and this has shaped my approach to communications. The course also instilled in me the ability to adapt your role to embrace what’s happening in the industry (the rise of AI, changes to traditional media, social-first formats).
Having worked at Emily Blair Media and now running your own agency, how has your perspective on the luxury and fashion communications industry evolved since graduating?
During my course, I was very focused on the brand side of media strategy, but after moving into more talent-focused PR in the UK, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful talent collaborations can be. It’s not just about driving immediate sales but instead it’s about building long-term brand alignment and creating authentic associations between talent, the brand and their audiences.
What advice would you give to current Vogue College of Fashion students?
Get uncomfortable, that’s where the best growth happens. Say yes to everything that comes your way (if you can) because it’s truly the best way to figure out what excites you. Be both the kindest and hardest-working person in any room. People always want to collaborate with someone who makes their life easier and delivers great work. Finally, never stop learning. No matter how high you climb up the ladder, consistently developing your skill set and knowledge will set you apart.
