Finding Vogue College

Some stories begin with a magazine. Mine did—with a copy of Vogue Adria, bought on instinct, like a sign. Tucked between the glossy pages was an advertisement for Vogue College of Fashion. I didn’t know such a place existed, but something about it pulled me in. At the time, I was finishing my BA in Communication Design in Rome, feeling stifled by an academic environment that had grown rigid and uninspiring. That ad felt like a lifeline—an invitation to rediscover my voice.

Without hesitation, I enrolled in the 5 Days of Creative Direction course at Vogue College in London. My classmates called it reckless. “You’ll never graduate if you leave now,” they warned. But I wasn’t afraid—I was craving expansion. And now, I look back and smile: not only did I graduate, but I returned stronger, more creative and more alive than ever.

Finding the Spark

From the moment I stepped into Vogue College, I felt something shift. I promised myself to show up fully—boldly, honestly, without filters. On the first day, we were asked to present ourselves as brands. I spoke about spirituality, feminine power and the idea of a brand as a ritualistic, soulful movement. Instead of resistance, I was met with warmth. The instructors didn’t just listen—they celebrated my voice. That kind of support was revolutionary for someone who had spent the last few years being told to “tone it down.”

One instructor in particular became a guiding light. We connected instantly, and that connection didn’t end with the course. In fact, I’m now heading to Pisa to collaborate with her on a creative project— proof that Vogue College doesn’t just teach; it builds bridges that last.

By midweek, I volunteered to be the editor of our group’s mock September Issue. Over ten women from different countries trusted my vision and let me lead. After years of being told to tone things down, to “be more realistic,” I was finally leading as my full self and being celebrated for it.

But beyond the projects, what made this week unforgettable was the sense of connection. I entered a space where competition gave way to collaboration, and strangers quickly became friends. The energy was warm, fearless and electric. I didn’t want to leave.

Finding My Place

The course gave me the freedom to express bold ideas and the confidence to own them. The projects I developed became strong additions to my portfolio, and my brand collaboration concept received great feedback from potential employers. It also helped me realize that creative direction is where I thrive and encouraged me to shift my career focus more deeply toward the creative side of branding and advertising.

In just five days, I gained a clear understanding of how a fashion collaboration is built from start to finish—something I had never fully grasped during my academic studies. Working in a British creative environment was eye-opening after years in the Italian system. It was inspiring, dynamic and truly enriching. Most of all, the course connected me with industry professionals and like-minded creatives—people who continue to shape and support my journey today.

Vogue College didn’t just expand my professional skills, but it also gave me the space to reignite my creative passion and confidence. It reminded me that my voice matters and that it has a place in this industry. I returned to Rome not just with newfound knowledge, but with a renewed belief in my vision and the courage to stand by it.
