What made you choose Vogue College of Fashion for your studies?

Vogue College of Fashion has always stood out to me due to its unique industry focus which allows students to learn firsthand from leading professionals in fashion. The opportunity to be directly connected to one of the most influential and prestigious fashion platforms in the world is what drove me to choose Vogue College. Studying in a dynamic and fashion-forward environment like London was a great way to build my foundation for a career in the fashion and media industries.

Which course did you enroll in and why?

I enrolled in the Fashion Media course because the course content is perfectly aligned with my creative interests and career goals. I love that the course seamlessly bridges traditional fashion communication with today’s current and fast-evolving fashion media landscape, from print to digital and artificial intelligence.

What were the most valuable skills you gained during the program?

As an assigned team, we were tasked with curating a September issue of Vogue from developing the concept to coordinating professional studio photo shoots. Because this project required such close attention to detail, I had to sharpen my communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with my peers.

Another valuable skill I developed during the program was how to curate professional and effective mood boards.

Describe your favorite day of the program. Where did you go, who did you meet?

My favorite day of the program was the day we visited the Condé Nast headquarters in London, as I’ve always admired the legacy and influence of the Condé Nast titles. We were able to step into the very offices where major titles such as Vogue, GQ, Vanity Fair and more are brought to life. We gained insight into how different departments work behind the scenes and even got to visit Vogue’s fashion cupboard!

Later in the course, we had many guest speakers and met individuals from Condé Nast such as Simon Leadsford, publishing director at Conde Nast Traveller, Alexander Ron, digital editor at Condé Nast Johansens and many more.

What was your day-to-day experience like?

My day-to-day experience consisted of arriving at the College and seeing all my amazing peers, most of whom had traveled to the program from all around the world. We would then have study sessions led by industry professionals. This is where we delved into course content and gained new fashion media knowledge. From there, we put all our learnings into practice during workshops for our final project.

We also participated in guest lectures by industry leaders who shared firsthand insights into the constantly evolving fashion media industry.

During the last week of the program, we directed and executed our own professional photo shoots with photographers and models for the final project. A lot of our experiences were hands on, which I loved!

How has the program contributed to your growth, either professionally or academically?

This program has contributed immensely to my confidence and impacted the direction of my career. As someone who graduated in a subject completely different from fashion, this program has left me with a renewed sense of purpose, an active and growing portfolio and most importantly, belief in myself and my career journey.

I’ve already had the opportunity to participate in London Fashion Week and put my learning and experience into practice.
