What made you choose Vogue College of Fashion for your studies?

Vogue has always been a source of inspiration for me. I’ve collected the magazines for years and admired the way fashion, beauty and culture come together so effortlessly on its pages. Being able to step into that world, even for five days, felt like living a dream I had carried with me for a long time.

What were the most valuable skills you gained during the program?

One of the most valuable skills I gained during the program was learning to stop overthinking and focus on taking action. I realized that there is rarely a perfect moment to start, especially in creative and entrepreneurial work, and that waiting for perfection often holds you back more than it helps you.

Through the course content, entrepreneur panel discussions and guidance of our lecturers, it became clear that progress comes from doing, experimenting and learning along the way.

This shift in mindset has changed how I approach projects and opportunities. I am now more confident in showing up, reaching out to brands and taking initiative, knowing that growth happens through action and that learning is an ongoing process.

What specific lessons from this course have influenced your approach as the founder and CEO of GJOOPY?

One of the most important lessons I took away from this course is that building a strong brand and business is never a one-person job. Especially when you start a business on your own, you often take on every role at once, from strategy and management to content creation and operations.

Through the program, I was reminded that it is not only okay, but essential, to delegate and bring in people who excel in areas where they have deeper expertise. I now focus more on building the right team dynamics, allowing each person to contribute their individual strengths.

Working collaboratively leads to stronger ideas, better execution and more sustainable growth, and ultimately creates better results than working alone.

Your cohort had the opportunity to meet beauty founder Lisa Franklin and collaborate with her on an Instagram shoot. What was this experience like, and what were some key learnings from this project?

Having Photographer Rui Faria on the shoot was incredibly inspiring. Drawing on his experience shooting for Vogue, he guided us through the process, sharing his knowledge openly and encouraging us to experiment and trust our creative instincts.

Meeting Lisa in person, visiting her clinic and hearing her story added a very personal layer to the project. Being able to show her the final results and see how happy she was with them was such a rewarding moment and made the whole experience feel even more special.

Describe your favorite day of the program. Where did you go, who did you meet?

My favorite day was the final day of the program, when everyone came together to work on a Vogue proposal. What I enjoyed most was collaborating with students from different courses, including Creative Direction, Fashion Styling, Fashion Business, Fashion Journalism and Beauty Business, and seeing how all these perspectives come together like in a real magazine team.

As a Beauty Business student, I worked on the beauty page of the proposal. It was not just about creating something visually appealing, but about thinking editorially, forecasting beauty trends and shaping content that feels relevant, aspirational and true to Vogue’s approach.

How has the program contributed to your professional growth?

The program contributed to my professional growth primarily through the connections and relationships I built. I met inspiring, like-minded people at Vogue College of Fashion who I am still in touch with today. We continue to support each other creatively, attend events together, collaborate on shoots and help one another across different projects.

Beyond peer connections, the program also led to meaningful professional opportunities. I had the chance to create content for my lecturer Sophie Cullen’s brand, The Bridal Beauty Company, during one of her events. Additionally, following the entrepreneur panel, I collaborated with Branding and Culture Strategist Nick Ede and created video content for Global Gift Gala London.

These experiences showed me the value of building genuine, supportive relationships within the industry. The program helped me form lasting connections based on mutual trust, collaboration and shared creative ambition, which has been incredibly motivating and rewarding for my professional journey.

How has the program shaped your perspective on the fashion and beauty industry?

The program changed how I see the fashion and beauty industry. It showed me that it is no longer just about aesthetics but about authenticity, individuality and understanding what people truly care about.

I also gained a clearer view of where the industry is heading, from longevity-focused beauty and expressive makeup to the growing role of technology, AI and sustainability alongside more value-conscious consumers.

Overall, the program helped me connect creativity with strategy and be more future-focused when building brands.

Who would you recommend this course to, and why?

I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to work in the creative industry, particularly within beauty and fashion, as well as to those looking to start their own business.

It is also valuable for people who want to refresh their knowledge and stay connected to how the industry is evolving. Marketing, branding and creative communication are constantly changing, and this program offers up-to-date, relevant insights.

Beyond the content, the networking aspect is incredibly powerful. You meet like-minded creatives, build genuine connections and become part of a supportive environment where collaboration feels natural.

For me, it felt like being in a creative bubble that continues to inspire growth through friendships and long-term professional connections.
