Who is this course for?

Vogue’s 5 Days of Fashion Business course is for anyone looking for direction—or redirection—in their career, no matter their background. I came from software engineering, and for the first time ever, I felt seen and understood.

If you had to pick one word for this experience, what would it be?

Passion. It might sound cheesy, but it’s true. You’ll be surrounded by people with very different stories and styles, all somehow connected to the craft—and that empowers you to share your questions and ideas. For example, I presented an entire social media strategy for Loewe crafted in 30 minutes. Bring your passion and let it speak for you.

What is it like to study in London?

Absolutely energising. You see that the city is very fast-paced, but it provides so much creative energy throughout the course. From a fashion perspective, the city is truly a case-study in itself. Everyone is so unique and fashionable that makes it impossible not to admire.

What was the biggest lesson you learned?

Definitely how to bring a vision to life. The September Issue project made me aware of what I did right—and wrong—when pitching creative ideas to different departments within a magazine. It completely opened my eyes to how amazing and challenging the whole process of putting a body of work together can be.

What is something you’re taking away from the program?

Connections. I met real friends and people from the industry, insiders and amazing professors. I met like-minded, kind people. I can’t wait to see them again in the future and see what they’ll doing next.

Were there any fashion events, talks or experiences that particularly impacted you?

Our field trip to the marketing agency Gung Ho really changed how I see brands. It was fascinating to learn how they’re shaping storytelling and aligning talents like models and social media creators with a brands’ images. A memorable part of the day was the walk through Shoreditch to the agency. My friends and I kept wondering how all those little shops and cafés crafted their own identity—it made me notice the details I’d normally overlook.

What were the most valuable skills you gained during the program?

Exercising my creativity as a way of thinking. We often fear things like creative block or try too hard to “get into the zone,” but I’ve learned it’s really about embracing the whole process, not chasing a perfect moment. The exercises and open questions in class showed me how creatives and brands work on a daily basis. It taught me that thinking outside the box goes a long way—not just on the catwalk but on the business side of fashion too.

How has the program contributed to your growth, either professionally or academically?

Professionally, it gave me vocabulary—and that’s more powerful and exciting than it sounds. Sometimes the fashion industry can feel closed off from the outside, but learning the names of different roles and areas in the business and meeting Condé Nast employees showed me how many paths exist behind the scenes. It gave me clarity about where I see myself in the future and, more importantly, the confidence that I can belong in those spaces.
